Client
The client is a mid-sized retail and commercial bank operating in the European region. The bank serves both individual and business customers and plays a critical role in domestic payments, clearing, and settlement. Operating in a highly regulated market, the institution needed to modernize its payment capabilities while continuing to run its existing core banking platform.
Challenge
The bank was constrained by an aging payments landscape that limited agility, scalability, and speed to market. Introducing new payment products or responding to regulatory changes required significant effort and time, creating operational friction and slowing business growth. The existing setup also made it difficult to scale efficiently during peak volumes and posed risks around long-term sustainability, especially as payment volumes and customer expectations continued to grow.
Solution
To address these challenges, a modern, cloud-native payments architecture was implemented. The solution centered around Temenos Payments Hub (TPH) deployed as a standalone platform, integrated seamlessly with the bank’s legacy core banking system. Temenos Financial Crime Mitigation (FCM) and Temenos Data Hub (TDH) were also implemented to strengthen compliance, data management, and reporting capabilities.
The platform was deployed on a Cloud 2.0 architecture, leveraging containerization and elastic scalability. This ensured high performance, resilience, and the ability to scale on demand. A structured data migration approach was executed to ensure data integrity and continuity of operations, enabling the bank to modernize its payments capability without disrupting ongoing business.
