Our client is a leading South African retail giant founded in 1924. With over 4200 outlets, 34 brands, and 35,000 employees, the client has a presence across five continents. The client was initially supported by a local vendor but faced challenges with application management services (AMS).
Challenge
The client faced challenges across various operations, such as SAP, administrative support and configuration, system alignment, and security standards. They needed to enhance their integration upgrade capability. They wanted a scalable support model for high-impact changes. The client's SAP system faced inefficiencies, data inconsistencies, and bottlenecks due to separate teams managing separate operations, which affected the system's overall productivity. Moreover, the previous configurations were not user-friendly, resulting in low adoption and reduced productivity. An improved user experience was crucial to maximizing system use and achieving desired outcomes.

Solution
To address these challenges, the client partnered with BCT. We identified unimplemented gaps and best practices and devised a custom action plan for the client's distinct business requirements. Our team took over end-to-end ownership of Coupa AMS and its related integrations with SAP. We made the necessary updates to the integration processes and harmonized the Coupa and SAP connections. BCT also conducted a comprehensive overhaul of the supplier information management process, making necessary configuration changes and ensuring accurate and comprehensive supplier data. This enabled the client to build stronger supplier relationships while streamlining procurement activities and ensuring compliance. BCT leveraged OAuth to fortify the client's authentication system, thereby enhancing data security and fostering a secure environment for business transactions. With a consultative approach in release management, we established a process with a scalable team to address specific requirements. The client continues to receive BCT support to ensure that there are no AMS roadblocks. In its solution for the client, BCT:
