The client is a large financial institution headquartered in the Middle East, operating in the banking and Islamic banking sector. With a strong regional presence and millions of customers, the organization offers a wide range of conventional and Shariah-compliant financial products. Its business model depends heavily on complex product structures, high regulatory compliance, and seamless in-branch and digital customer experiences.
Challenge
As the bank expanded its portfolio of Islamic and conventional products, its legacy technology landscape began to show clear limitations. Product innovation required extensive manual workarounds, slowing time-to-market and increasing operational risk. Branch processes were fragmented, leading to inconsistent customer journeys, higher processing times, and greater dependency on staff expertise. The existing core systems also limited the bank’s ability to integrate efficiently with peripheral systems and branch devices, impacting scalability and cost efficiency.
Solution
To address these challenges, the bank adopted a modern core banking transformation built on Temenos Transact and Temenos Data Hub. The solution leveraged Java-based extensibility to design and deploy highly customized Islamic and conventional banking products without compromising core stability. Comprehensive functional and technical specifications were developed, followed by offshore-led development, unit testing, system integration testing, and user acceptance testing. More than fifty end-to-end branch customer journeys were digitized and automated, with deep integrations to peripheral banking systems and branch devices. Post go-live, the solution was supported through structured live support and continuous enhancements, ensuring long-term sustainability.

The transformation delivered measurable business value. Operational efficiency improved significantly as manual interventions were reduced and standardized processes were introduced across branches.
