Oman Waste Operator Connects Fleet and Bin Monitoring in One Platform
BCT integrated field devices with CUSTRANS to provide real-time and historical visibility into vehicles, cameras and bin-service activities.
Client
Challenge
The company did not have a single platform to monitor fleet management, HSE and bin management across its service regions. Bringing these activities into one solution required integration between field hardware and an application suited to the customer’s operations.
The required visibility extended beyond vehicles. The customer also needed to count bin collections and bin washing, monitor camera information, and access dashboards and reports tailored to its requirements.

Solution
BCT identified the required hardware and integrated it with its own CUSTRANS application. The team customised and delivered the solution to the customer’s requirements over a one-year engagement.
The implementation combined MeiTrack IVMS devices for fleet monitoring with Howen camera devices. It supported real-time and historical monitoring through the IVMS and a DFMS configuration with five cameras.
CHAINWAY RFID readers supported counting of bin collection and washing activities. This brought bin-service records into the solution alongside fleet and camera monitoring, with access to both real-time and historical information.
BCT also provided a customised real-time dashboard and reports aligned with the customer’s requirements. Technical and development teams worked together to integrate the hardware with CUSTRANS and adapt the application to the required service activities.

Impact
The company gained a common solution for fleet monitoring, camera monitoring and bin-service tracking. Teams could access current information and review historical records through the delivered capabilities.
RFID-based counting provided visibility into bin collections and washing activities. The customised dashboard and reports brought these monitoring capabilities into views shaped around the customer’s requirements.
The customer reported satisfaction with the CUSTRANS Bin Management Solution. The result was a more connected view of waste-service operations, combining vehicle and camera information with records of bin collection and washing in a customised application.
