The Monthly Progress Report contained large volumes of operational information, but senior leaders needed a faster way to understand performance. The report had to surface key achievements, trends, exceptions and departmental outcomes without requiring leadership to work through detailed operational data.
The data changed from one reporting cycle to the next. Its volume, type, granularity and focus varied each month, bringing new KPIs, departmental metrics and observations into the reporting process.
A fixed template would quickly become repetitive or fail to represent the month’s most important information. The team needed to continuously analyse, restructure and redesign the report while keeping its visual language consistent and its messages meaningful.

Each reporting cycle began with analysis of the available data and the issues most relevant to leadership. KPIs and supporting information were then reorganised so that achievements, trends and exceptions could be understood in a clear sequence rather than as a collection of disconnected figures.
