Client
Performance monitoring for energy producing assets is complex and costly. It requires top-level expertise and advanced tools. It can be especially challenging for enterprises that have assets distributed across different locations. Our client, a global solar OEM, was experiencing problems in monitoring their assets’ performance leading to low efficiency and high cost.
Challenge
The client was facing significant challenges in assessing the performance of its globally dispersed assets. They also needed to integrate their assets with sensors and field devices to ensure proper monitoring. The client had initially faced failures to set up assets, which led to issues in performance management. The assets also lacked integration with sensors and field devices, which prevented real-time performance reporting. The client was also facing scaling challenges, which blocked the expansion of their software portfolio.

Solution
BCT deployed retina360, an advanced predictive analytics platform as a comprehensive solution to improve the overall operational efficiency of the client’s assets. Under this, BCT also implemented SCADA, enabling centralized monitoring and real-time performance analysis for 80 MW across eight energy parks. This dual implementation streamlined data collection and control, offering real-time dashboards, comprehensive reporting, and proactive alerts. These tools improved the client's operational response capabilities, with key performance indicators and event monitoring at their fingertips. Additionally, the system's predictive maintenance messages and integrated energy forecasting significantly mitigated downtime and potential generation losses, boosting overall operational efficiency.
