Real Time Fuel Visibility Across 72 Aviation Fuelling Stations
BCT connected field devices, digital delivery vouchers and SAP to replace manual processes and enable airline self-service across a nationwide aviation fuelling network.

Challenge
Across 72 aviation fuelling stations, teams relied on paper records and manual data entry. Flight schedules arrived by email and were entered by hand. Fuel stock was tracked manually, leaving station managers without real-time visibility into availability.
Staff completed and obtained signatures on paper fuel delivery vouchers, then reconciled the records with SAP in a separate step. This introduced delays and the risk of errors between aircraft fuelling activity and the records used for invoicing. Airline customers also depended on calls and emails to obtain delivery and billing information.
The enterprise needed to standardise these processes across locations while accommodating different operating scenarios. Scheduled and non-scheduled flights, defuelling, re-delivery, aircraft changes and multiple refuellers all required defined workflows. Digital equipment also needed to be suitable for use in hazardous zones.

Solution
BCT deployed FuelTrans, a cloud-native Wingtip and Terminal Automation platform, across all 72 stations. Direct, API-based SAP integration connected field transactions with the enterprise system, bringing fuel delivery records into the invoicing process.
IoT controllers connected tank gauges, flow meters and refueller sensors to the platform. Live data replaced manual stock tracking and gave station managers real-time inventory visibility. The technology environment included radar gauges, automatic tank gauging probes and digital flow meters.
At the aircraft, staff used ATEX-certified tablets to create digital fuel delivery vouchers, automatically capture flow meter readings and obtain customer sign-off on the spot. Transaction data flowed directly to SAP, removing the need to re-enter voucher information for reconciliation.
