A shared integration layer supports a rapid BSS transition and telecom service flows
A Brunei telecommunications provider adapted its integration environment as it moved from Cerillion to dtWorks, connecting its new BSS to mobile and fixed-line infrastructure services.
Client
Challenge
The move from Cerillion to dtWorks was completed within one month, leaving little time to adapt the interfaces around the new BSS. Mobile and fixed-line processes needed to continue communicating with the wholesale network despite differences in data structures, business rules and service flows.
The integration environment also had to support the decoding of call detail records before downstream rating. Testing, troubleshooting and stabilization were needed to keep the changed processes working after migration.
The integration environment also had to support the decoding of call detail records before downstream rating. Testing, troubleshooting and stabilization were needed to keep the changed processes working after migration.
Solution
BCT used TIBCO BusinessWorks as a central integration layer between dtWorks and the wholesale network’s APIs. This gave the new BSS a common path for mobile and fixed-line communication, with routing and processing managed in one integration environment.
1
API flows connect dtWorks with wholesale network services across mobile and fixed-line operations.
2
Mappings and validation translate requests and responses between different interface and data structures.
3
Business logic, error handling and exception management support consistent processing and troubleshooting.
4
TIBCO BusinessWorks integrates with the Marben Decoder to decode call detail records for downstream rating.
Impact
The integration layer was adapted within the accelerated BSS transition, enabling dtWorks to communicate with the wholesale network through managed API flows. Mobile and fixed-line services use the same integration approach, and the call detail record path supports decoding before rating.
Centralized routing, transformation and error handling make the integration environment easier to manage. BCT also supported testing, troubleshooting and production stabilization after the migration.
