Ten Branches Go Live with NBFC Specific Capabilities
BCT combined lending expertise and agile delivery to implement Temenos Transact and develop reusable capabilities for Indian non-banking financial institutions.

Challenge
The institution was new to core banking products and technology. Its internal teams had limited knowledge of the detailed business processes required for implementation, while third-party vendors managed much of the legacy system. The institution had primarily used that system as an end user.
The implementation required a deeper understanding of its lending operations and the processes needed within the new platform. BCT needed to translate Indian NBFC business practices and regulatory requirements into suitable Temenos configurations and functionality.

Solution
BCT worked beyond conventional product implementation to understand the Indian NBFC operating environment. The team developed a reusable NBFC operating model that addressed the client’s needs and could also support similar institutions.
Temenos lending, reporting and integration specialists played key roles in building the solution. The team used an agile delivery approach with short sprints to meet client expectations as the implementation progressed.
The solution incorporated reusable features for non-performing asset management, teller operations, and regulatory and business reporting. NBFC-specific business processes and configurations formed part of the Temenos Transact implementation, bringing the institution’s operating requirements into the core banking platform.

Impact
The initial tranche successfully went live across ten branches on 13 July 2026. This marked the first deployment milestone, supported by collaboration between BCT, the client and the implementation teams.
The engagement also created reusable Temenos capabilities for the Indian NBFC segment. By combining Transact with lending processes, reporting features and NBFC-specific configurations, BCT established an implementation model that could be applied to similar requirements beyond this engagement.
