A global measurement-device manufacturer brought readings from several meters into one mobile app, giving field technicians a simpler way to monitor conditions and share results.

Challenge
Different devices required separate apps, making it harder to monitor several measurements together. Technicians had limited options for viewing trends or retaining data after readings appeared on screen. They also needed to keep watching for abnormal values and had no simple way to share results.
The client wanted one dependable mobile experience for remote monitoring, threshold alerts, short-term history and reports across its device range.

Solution
BCT developed an iOS and Android app that communicates with the client’s meters through its proprietary Bluetooth protocol. The app displays live measurements from up to eight meters at the same time, combining numerical readings with interactive charts.

Technicians can tap, pan and zoom charts to examine live readings from connected devices.

Configurable high and low thresholds trigger notifications when a reading crosses a set limit.

The app retains up to eight hours of readings so technicians can review recent trends.

Detailed PDF reports provide a way to share readings for follow-up and analysis.
Impact
Technicians can monitor multiple meters from one app instead of switching among device-specific tools. Remote access reduces the need to stand beside equipment, while threshold notifications reduce reliance on continuous screen watching.
