Challenge
Integrations had developed independently across internal applications and external partners. This fragmented approach made it difficult to apply consistent standards, monitor services centrally and govern a growing API ecosystem.
Each new digital service or partnership could introduce additional connections and dependencies. The bank needed to reduce repeated integration work and make existing services reusable across multiple channels and consumers.
Security and business continuity were equally important. The bank required stronger control over access, authorisation and the volume of traffic reaching backend systems. Support teams also needed clearer visibility into application health and service behaviour to identify issues quickly.
The challenge was to establish a central enterprise integration layer that supported regulatory and governance objectives while enabling faster delivery of new services. This foundation had to serve existing banking operations as well as an expanding network of corporate customers and partners.

BCT designed and delivered a centralised enterprise integration and API management layer as a common connectivity point for internal applications, digital channels and external ecosystems. The solution brought security, traffic policies, monitoring and integration under a shared framework.
TIBCO Mashery enabled central management of API access, authorisation, usage and traffic policies, giving the bank greater control over requests before they reached critical backend services. TIBCO BusinessWorks provided the enterprise integration layer, while TIBCO EMS supported reliable messaging and asynchronous processing.
The architecture enabled common services to support multiple consumers, reducing the need to build separate point-to-point connections for each requirement. This approach helped the bank reuse existing capabilities as it introduced new products and connected additional partners.
Centralised logging and Grafana dashboards provided real-time visibility into traffic and service behaviour. TIBCO TEA supported application and environment management, while TIBCO Hawk monitoring and alerts helped support teams identify potential issues before they affected customers.
