Our client is an American multinational biotechnology company specializing in the discovery, development, and delivery of therapies for the treatment of neurological diseases to patients worldwide.

To migrate more than 800 data-sensitive and mission-critical services to Cloud
Our client’s IT environment was ridden with multiple challenges of varied scales and complexities. Mission critical apps were running in older versions of platforms. High volumes of research data and billions of valuable findings for neurological disorders lay unstructured and unused. Third party software and over 800 on-premise applications running on legacy systems kept escalating the total cost of operations with performance reaching an all-time low.
Solution
Refactored, Reengineered, and Reusable Microservices GCC CoE
Most of the services to be migrated were built decades ago on completely legacy architecture with outdated protocols and standards. We adopted quite a hands-on approach to the whole assessment phase of the OIC migration. We looked into each of the service and weighed several attributes including relevance in the current cloud ecosystem, possibilities of migration, and business significance.
After a thorough analysis, we brought down the number of services to be migrated to around 600, optimizing the entire migration process. This optimization was crucial to our client not only in saving migration costs, but also in terms of ongoing TCO. The refactoring process involved modernizing the code, improving user interfaces, and enhancing performance without compromising functionality.
Leveraging the Oracle GCC CoE set up by Bahwan CyberTek and their Integration Cloud’s capabilities, we created seamless integrations among refactored applications. This included developing APIs, using pre-built connectors, and setting up event-driven architectures to ensure real-time data flow.
