Shinba, Omani firm to work on BLS project 29th June 2011
AN OMANI company is collaborating with local firm Shinba Edaran (B) Sdn Bhd in the implementation of Phase 2B of the Business Licensing System (BLS) project.
Shinba Edaran signed a three-year contract last week, in which the company and Omani-based Bahwan CyberTek (BCT) was awarded the tender to handle a section of the second phase of BLS.
BLS is a joint initiative of Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources (MIPR) and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) to solve the labyrinthine process of doing business in Brunei, and includes 13 agencies working to bring together 13 business licensing processes into a single on-line window.

BCT wins Brunei Darussalam project 26th June 2011
By A Staff Reporter - MUSCAT — In line with the Brunei Darussalam government’s vision to improve its ranking in the ‘Ease of Doing Business for Private Companies’, the Ministry of Primary Resources (MIPR) and Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) have awarded a three-year contract to Bahwan CyberTek (BCT) and its local partner Shinba Edaran.
The project is to integrate the main Business Licensing System with the existing back-end agency systems of the 13 departments participating in this national initiative led by MIPR and MoHA.
Bahwan Cybertek will implement its flagship product Cuecent Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), which will facilitate and expedite the integration between the various government agency systems, thereby easing the business licensing process for the local and international business entities wanting to invest in Brunei Darussalam. BCT had partnered with a reputed local IT business establishment Shinba Edaran for this prestigious project.

By A Staff Reporter - MUSCAT — Bahwan CyberTek (BCT) partners with Software AG to introduce Software AG’s University Relations Programme (URP) for promoting expertise and drive career prospects of graduates in Oman Through this partnership, BCT hopes to provide Omani students a rare opportunity to boost their technical know-how by giving them access to state-of-the-art work experiences that are normally not available to students.
The URP is designed to help enhance the professional expertise of graduates in Oman and subsequently complement the country’s human resource development initiatives, benefitting companies and employers all over the country and ultimately supporting the sustainable growth of the national economy.
A key component of the programme is its provision of free university licenses for leading service-oriented architecture (SOA) and business process excellence (BPE) software and technologies such as Adabas, Natural, CentraSite, EntireX, ApplinX, webMethods Suite BPM, ARIS Business Architect, and ARIS Server.
Participating universities will also be entitled to expert guest lectures, case studies delivered in pre-defined project packages, Bachelor and Master theses, internships, and company visits.

Leading IT services provider Bahwan CyberTek is the Manpower Ministry’s private sector partner in the collaborative arrangement. A total of 154 of these ‘one-stop-shop e-services stores’ have since been rolled out across the country, providing a unique portfolio of services that are exclusive to the Sanad brand.

Before assessing its achievements, it would be worthwhile to examine its objectives. One of the key aims of Sanad is to promote entrepreneurship among Omani youth in terms of small projects and promoting Omanisation in the private sector.

BCT implemented an ePayment solution for Dubai eGovernment covering the consolidation of Services / Bills offered by third party providers - to perform online presentment and payment of Governmental services for citizens. In a recent press release, the Dubai eGovernment has reported a 68 per cent increase in electronic payments collected from its ePay portal in 2010.

The Chennai based Bahwan CyberTek LLC and The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) have entered in to a partnership to take management education to Sultanate of Oman.
“In near term Bahwan CyberTek and IIMB are poised to launch Executive Development Programs in Sultanate of Oman. In the long term we expect this partnership to evolve into a strategic relationship and launch the Bahwan Institute of Management of international standard to cater to the management education in Middle East region” said Mr Durgaprasad, Director & CEO of Bahwan CyberTek.
