Bahwan CyberTek (BCT), a leading global provider of specialized software products and solutions, announced the launch of their Renewable Energy Monitoring and Analytics Solution at the 9th annual Wind O & M Dallas 2017, held between the 10th& 12th of April, 2017, in Dallas, Texas, USA. The event was organized by the Wind Energy Update, a part of FCBI Energy Ltd.

BCT has launched its powerful Renewable Energy Monitoring and Analytics Solution (TOMS), built using RETINA – BCT’s patent-pending predictive analytics platform - in the US market. This solution is designed for operators, OEMs and investors and provides insights into turbine operations and windfarm performance and investment analytics, pioneering a new concept for investors called ‘Cash to Blade’.

BCT’s Turbine Operations Monitoring System acts as a smart wind farm portfolio manager, offering improved availability of assets and also helps operators to identify and minimize generation losses. Built as an independent, OEM-agnostic system, the solution provides a scalable enterprise wide predictive analytics advantage. Indian Banks would need to pro-actively assess borrowers’ health through comprehensive systems utilizing external and internal data

In an industry-first survey on Credit Monitoring Practices of Indian Banks, Bahwan CyberTek highlights the need to take a holistic approach to credit monitoring with organizational ownership combined with an urgent need for automation as well as data integration

Bahwan CyberTek, a leading global provider of innovative software products and solutions, has launched a report based on India’s first ever survey on ‘Credit Monitoring Practices of Indian Banks’; the report titled ‘Practitioners’ Insights on Credit Monitoring’. This was part of an event organized by the company where industry leaders and practitioners from private and public sector banks shared their experiences, both from a regulatory and a banker’s viewpoint and the latest regulatory developments in the Indian banking system, for credit monitoring.

Launch of Credit Monitoring Report

The survey was conducted between October 2016 and February 2017, amongst senior bankers spearheading the credit risk monitoring or are part of the management unit, spread across 25+ public and private sector banks in India of varying asset sizes; this included banks whose total asset size comprised 42% of the combined asset size of all Indian scheduled commercial banks, as of March 2016.

Commenting on the launch of the report, Jaya Vaidhyanathan, President – BFSI & Strategic Business Initiatives, Bahwan CyberTek said, “We at Bahwan CyberTek believe in proactive action as opposed to merely reacting to an action. As a key priority for 2017 and years to come, we think it is important for Indian banks to make full use of the technology which will help automate and therefore improve their credit monitoring techniques, given that the health of our country’s economy depends on it.

“This therefore brings about the need for an Early Warning System where bankers can predict and assess the health of a borrower, for instance, and take necessary measures. Moreover, such a system should help gauge the performance of all critical sectors that contribute towards the growth of the Indian economy”, she added.

Some of the key findings from the survey include:

  • No bank has completely automated the SMA (Special Mention Accounts) monitoring process
  • Banks largely rely on internal data to monitor the borrower health that might cause trouble in the future; the absence/ minimal use of external data (from an availability and quality point of view) doesn’t help in taking sound decisions
  • Majority of the responding banks (>70%) see a need for a separate Early Warning System rather than making modifications to the existing systems, and have planned for one
  • With regard to reporting, data collection is fully manual for 40% of the responding bank
    • For over 75% of the banks, report generation, dissemination and follow up actions is either fully manual or just partially automated

Speaking at the launch, T. N. Manoharan, Chairman, Canara Bank, said, “I would like to congratulate Bahwan CyberTek for undertaking this survey. I am sure that the findings will be of immense value to both banking personnel and the BFSI industry as a whole, and I personally hope to be enriched by the insights presented in the report. With regard to the banking industry, the two major challenges faced by the sector in the last one year have been the Asset Quality Review issued by the RBI, and demonetization. However, the banking industry is returning to normalcy, after having faced these hurdles.”

BCT participated at the first ever Global Conference on Voter Education, organized by the Election Commission of India in association with UNDP, from the 19th to the 21st of October, 2016 at the Taj Palace, New Delhi.

During the event, The Election Commissioner of India, Mr. Nasim Zaidi, showcased BCT's product, PULSE, a social media analytics solution, and DropThought, a feedback analytics solution. Bahwan CyberTek has been chosen by the Election Commission of India to monitor poll-related posts across social media channels.

Chennai, 20th April, 2016

Bahwan CyberTek (BCT), a leading global provider of innovative software products and services, today announced that it has been chosen by the Election Commission of India to monitor TN Election related posts on social media sites by using Cuecent Pulse.

Realizing the significance of social media and its impact on elections, the Election Commission of India wanted to put in place specialized software to monitor poll-related posts on various platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and other social media channels. To address this need, BCT provided Cuecent PULSE, a social media listening, monitoring and analytics solution, which will be used to monitor posts on Tamil Nadu elections on social media sites. These posts are then bucketed based on the nature of complaints into the respective districts and are forwarded through the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS) to district officials for action and closure.

The complaints that come up most frequently are related to breach of Election rules, especially in the areas of Money Distribution, Liquor Distribution, Coupons and any other items. Enquiries that come up often relate to Voter ID, Voters list inclusion etc.

Mr. P Rajasekaran, Chief Products Officer of Bahwan CyberTek said that “This software will help Election Commission of India to monitor texts, images, audios and videos on all social media platforms using powerful algorithms ”. He further added that this innovative solution taps into the powerful and omnipresent channel – social media – to help the TNCEO carry out cleaner elections in TN.

BCT chosen by Barnes & Noble as outsourcing partner to take over certain Nook Technology Functions.

BCT has been chosen as outsourcing partner by Barnes & Noble, USA’s largest retail bookseller and a leading retailer of content, digital media and educational products to take over certain NOOK technology services, including cloud management and development support for NOOK software. Barnes & Noble also reiterated its commitment to the NOOK business and said it will continue to provide an exceptional NOOK reading experience without customer interruption.

Barnes & Noble said that the business will be transitioned by July 2016. I also added that as a result of agreement with BCT, it plans to close its Santa Clara, California and Taiwan offices.

Bahwan CyberTek-Alumni Club Cricket inter club Tournament sponsored by BCT was held during the month of Feb 2015. In the final match held on 14th Feb 2015, the Alumni Club Team played a spirited game to claim the top spot.

BCT has partnered with ‘Alumni Club - Anna University’ for the last 6 years to conduct this annual tournament for premier clubs in Chennai.

It is noteworthy that the team supported by BCT has lifted the cup in the 18th edition of this one-of-a-kind 20-20 tournament for Chennai City Clubs.

BCT's Cuecent ePay generates AED 5 billion in first 9 months of 2014 - UAE, 9th October 2014

Recent statistics from Dubai Smart Government (DSG) have revealed that approximately AED 5 billion was collected through its ePay portal, an increase of 25 per cent from January 1 to September 30, 2014, compared to the same period the previous year. The uptrend was accompanied by a 16 per cent increase in the number of completed transactions.

A total of AED 4,985,541,820 was collected through DSG's ePay portal on behalf of 28 government entities by the end of September 2014, accounting for 3,810,153 transactions compared to 3,296,356 transactions during the same period in 2013. This has led to substantial benefits in terms of reducing government expenses through investment in DSG’s technical infrastructure, which is offered to all Dubai-based government entities and departments as well as individual and corporate users.

As part of DSG's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, the ePay gateway contributes to environmental sustainability efforts by lowering the carbon footprint from exhaust gas emissions as a result of less daily heavy traffic movement of customers going to government offices.

H.E. Ahmad Bin Humaidan, Director General of Dubai Smart Government, commented on the massive increase in ePay usage: "These results demonstrate the growing interest of customers in using the ePay service to complete their government transactions, further reflecting their full confidence in this highly efficient and secure service. We have come a long way in offering smart government applications, especially for financial transactions which are considered sensitive areas for our customers. We have been able to improve user confidence in DSG through portal enhancements such as the integration of a 3D Secure System and the inclusion of multiple payment options for our customers."

"This portal enables individual and corporate users to pay electronically or via smart channels for more than 100 services being offered by participating government entities, either through the eDirham, credit or debit cards from seven leading banks, namely: Commercial Bank of Dubai, Dubai Islamic Bank, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Emirates Islamic Bank, Union National Bank, and Emirates NBD", Bin Humaidan concluded.

The ePay portal has a smart feature which allows it to be connected with all the smart and e- services of government departments, irrespective of the technologies and software used by these entities. It is also compatible with all means of electronic payment including the internet, kiosks, Interactive Voice Response, and major credit cards.

The portal is part of the Dubai Smart Government's efforts to provide government services through innovative channels in order to facilitate government interaction with the people and business community of Dubai. It enables instant payment of government fees through a smart, effective, comfortable and secure mechanism to save time and effort related to personal visits to banks or relevant departments, in line with Dubai’s current strategy of ensuring full customer satisfaction.

BCT's Founder and Chairperson Ms. Hind Bahwan honored as one of Most Powerful Arab Women by Forbes Middle East - UAE, 1st October 2014

Forbes Middle East has released its listing of The 200 Most Powerful Arab Women, ranking BCT’s Founder and Chairperson Ms. Hind Bahwan at No. 17. Ms. Hind has also been recognized by Oman Economic Review (OER), the leading business publication of the Middle-East, as one of the 'Most Powerful Women in Business'.

A number of factors were considered when finalizing the ranking, included family businesses as well as those set up by enterprising first generation entrepreneurs. To create this ranking, Forbes considered privately-held companies and used published financial statements and official websites. Each respective company was then contacted and asked to provide further detailed information with regard to the candidates such as Degree of power associated with the position, years of professional experience, family generation the individual belongs to, individual’s media interaction and online presence, number of years in operation, number of countries in which the organization has operations and number of employees.

All 200 honorees were recognized at an award ceremony which was held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, which featured top business leaders and senior government representatives from across the Arab world.

Bahwan International Institute of Technology launches IIT JEE Coaching, Muscat, 04 Sep 2014

Every parent today is looking to offer their children the best education opportunities and catapult them into great careers.
