The prestigious Disruptive Technology and Innovation Summit conferred BCT with 2 Awards at a gala event held on the 20th of December at Vivanta by Taj, Bengaluru.
Ms. Jaya Vaidhyanathan, President - BFSI and Strategic Business Initiatives, received the ‘Tech Woman of the Year’ Award. CII recognizes BCT as the ‘Technology Solution Provider for Logistics’

BCT participated at the first ever Global Conference on Voter Education, organized by the Election Commission of India in association with UNDP, from the 19th to the 21st of October, 2016 at the Taj Palace, New Delhi.
During the event, The Election Commissioner of India, Mr. Nasim Zaidi, showcased BCT's product, PULSE, a social media analytics solution, and DropThought, a feedback analytics solution. Bahwan CyberTek (BCT), a leading global provider of innovative software products and services, today announced that it has been chosen by the Election Commission of India to monitor TN Election related posts on social media sites by using Cuecent Pulse.
Realizing the significance of social media and its impact on elections, the Election Commission of India wanted to put in place specialized software to monitor poll-related posts on various platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and other social media channels. To address this need, BCT provided Cuecent PULSE, a social media listening, monitoring and analytics solution, which will be used to monitor posts on Tamil Nadu elections on social media sites. These posts are then bucketed based on the nature of complaints into the respective districts and are forwarded through the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS) to district officials for action and closure.
The complaints that come up most frequently are related to breach of Election rules, especially in the areas of Money Distribution, Liquor Distribution, Coupons and any other items. Enquiries that come up often relate to Voter ID, Voters list inclusion etc.
Mr. P Rajasekaran, Chief Products Officer of Bahwan CyberTek said that “This software will help Election Commission of India to monitor texts, images, audios and videos on all social media platforms using powerful algorithms ”. He further added that this innovative solution taps into the powerful and omnipresent channel – social media – to help the TNCEO carry out cleaner elections in TN.

BCT has been chosen as outsourcing partner by Barnes & Noble, USA’s largest retail bookseller and a leading retailer of content, digital media and educational products to take over certain NOOK technology services, including cloud management and development support for NOOK software. Barnes & Noble also reiterated its commitment to the NOOK business and said it will continue to provide an exceptional NOOK reading experience without customer interruption.
Barnes & Noble said that the business will be transitioned by July 2016. I also added that as a result of agreement with BCT, it plans to close its Santa Clara, California and Taiwan offices.

BCT’s Joint Venture Comquest conducted a one-month intensive professional development training programme for their Management team and the Call centre agents of the organization. The objective of the training programme was to develop leadership and management skills among the Comquest team members. The session included a series of modules which helped them enhance their Communication, Delegation, Employee Engagement, Motivation and overall Performance.
The training programme was conducted by Ms. Kerry McIntyre, Modern Gulf Institute (MGI), Oman. Ms. Kerry concluded the session by saying that “I am very happy to see such a dynamic team growing from strength to strength”.

BCT has signed an agreement with Sri Eshwar College of Engineering, Coimbatore, to set up a development center. Through this center, BCT will train faculty and students on how software companies work and also share projects or portions thereof to enable students work on real-time projects.
The students, mostly drawn from circuit branches, gain crucial real-time experience in executing software projects. This is another milestone in BCT’s journey of closely working with Academia to promote education and talent enhancement.
Bahwan CyberTek-Alumni Club Cricket inter club Tournament sponsored by BCT was held during the month of Feb 2015. In the final match held on 14th Feb 2015, the Alumni Club Team played a spirited game to claim the top spot.
BCT has partnered with ‘Alumni Club - Anna University’ for the last 6 years to conduct this annual tournament for premier clubs in Chennai.
It is noteworthy that the team supported by BCT has lifted the cup in the 18th edition of this one-of-a-kind 20-20 tournament for Chennai City Clubs.
The prize distribution ceremony took place on Sunday, 15th Feb 2015 in the Alumni Club Lawns. BCT’s CEO Mr. Durgaprasad was the Chief Guest and distributed the prizes. The Special Guest for the evening was Mr. Peter Fernandez, the Coach of the MAC Spin Foundation.

Recent statistics from Dubai Smart Government (DSG) have revealed that approximately AED 5 billion was collected through its ePay portal, an increase of 25 per cent from January 1 to September 30, 2014, compared to the same period the previous year. The uptrend was accompanied by a 16 per cent increase in the number of completed transactions.
A total of AED 4,985,541,820 was collected through DSG's ePay portal on behalf of 28 government entities by the end of September 2014, accounting for 3,810,153 transactions compared to 3,296,356 transactions during the same period in 2013. This has led to substantial benefits in terms of reducing government expenses through investment in DSG’s technical infrastructure, which is offered to all Dubai-based government entities and departments as well as individual and corporate users.
As part of DSG's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, the ePay gateway contributes to environmental sustainability efforts by lowering the carbon footprint from exhaust gas emissions as a result of less daily heavy traffic movement of customers going to government offices.

The ePay portal has a smart feature which allows it to be connected with all the smart and e- services of government departments, irrespective of the technologies and software used by these entities. The portal is part of the Dubai Smart Government's efforts to provide government services through innovative channels in order to facilitate government interaction with the people and business community of Dubai. It enables instant payment of government fees through a smart, effective, comfortable and secure mechanism to save time and effort related to personal visits to banks or relevant departments, in line with Dubai’s current strategy of ensuring full customer satisfaction.
Forbes Middle East has released its listing of The 200 Most Powerful Arab Women, ranking BCT’s Founder and Chairperson Ms. Hind Bahwan at No. 17. Ms. Hind has also been recognized by Oman Economic Review (OER), the leading business publication of the Middle-East, as one of the 'Most Powerful Women in Business'.
A number of factors were considered when finalizing the ranking, included family businesses as well as those set up by enterprising first generation entrepreneurs. To create this ranking, Forbes considered privately-held companies and used published financial statements and official websites. Each respective company was then contacted and asked to provide further detailed information with regard to the candidates such as Degree of power associated with the position, years of professional experience, family generation the individual belongs to, individual’s media interaction and online presence, number of years in operation, number of countries in which the organization has operations and number of employees.

The Sultanate of Oman has been elected as Vice President of the international programme known as Information for All Programme (IFAP).
The development is a recognition of Oman's outstanding contribution during its membership of the Executive Office in the previous session, and its role in the development of the programme.
This was announced during the eighth session meeting of the Council of the Government's programme on May 19 and 20, at the Unesco headquarters in Paris.
Omar Salim Al Shanfari, deputy CEO of the Information Technology Authority (ITA) for Operations, headed Oman's delegation at this meeting attended by Saif Hamed Al Busaidi, Communication Specialist at the Omani National Committee for Education, Culture and Science.
Commenting on this achievement, Al Shanfari said, "The Information for All Programme (IFAP) is one of the most important programmes sponsored by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).
"The election of the Sultanate as Vice-President of this programme is yet another international recognition of the Sultanate's role in promoting digital literacy by enabling access to the information society and for all segments of Omani society. We are honoured to be a member of this programme ever since the election of the Sultanate as a member of the government council during the 36th session of the general committee of the Unesco," added Al Shanfari.
